MAYFLIES
Feature film, Hungary, 2025, 88 min, with English subtitles
Director of Photography: Szilágyi Gábor
Director: Goldberg Emília

When Steve, arrested for carrying out contract killings, is led into the prison’s communal shower shortly after his incarceration, it comes to light that he was born a woman. He is transferred to a new wing where he indifferently awaits death; everything is irrelevant and insignificant – that is until Irma enters his life. The claustrophobic pastor's daughter rarely leaves the building and is now tasked with teaching him to read and write. Amidst the prison's filthy cells, abusive guards, and an obsessive prison doctor, an unusual connection develops in which both Steve and Irma seem to find healing, and a love like the dance of the mayflies – together with its imminent end.

VANTAGE VISION AND SPECIAL GRIP HUNGARY AWARD
CS.KALOTAS | K6 FEAT. GENTLY DA SPITTAH’: NOTHING CAN SAVE ME
Music video, Hungary, 2026, 4 min
Director of Photography: Garai Gabriel
Director: Juhász Péter

The music video talks honestly about anxiety, inner struggle and self-identity. Produced by 235 Productions and directed by Péter Juhász, it takes us on an inner journey through wandering in the city during the night, where fears and troubled thoughts appear in a symbolic space. The song features Gently Da Spittah’, whose unique lyrics in English are strongly connected to the soundtrack-like compositon by Csaba Kalotás and amplify its personal and generational voice. The project was created in collaboration with a hotline for children in crisis, and, instead of giving anwers, aims to open a dialogue on mental burden and on the importance of asking for help.

Cast: Gently da Spittah’, Kalotás Csaba, Puskás Szaffi, Czukor Balázs, Czakó Ádám, Paksi Bettina, Vass Noémi, Ben-Kane Dávid, Joel Taiwo, Szabó Dániel, Szabó Béla, Gulyás János, Garamvölgyi Vince
