TESTAMENTUM - IN MEMORIAM BÉLA BARTÓK

The film draws a parallel between the crisis of Béla Bartók’s emigration to the US and the spiritual quest of Dan, a contemporary Central-European director, who returns from the US to Budapest. Torn from his roots and refusing moral compromises, Bartók dies of his inner emigration. Dan searches for his true identity through directing ‘Bluebeard’ and through the fictional Testament. The reflection of past and present examines the questions of creative purity and homecoming.
