pre-premier screening

Young Gerda sets off into the great unknown in search of her friend Kai, who has simply disappeared. On her journey, Gerda makes friends with a gander, a horse, a reindeer, and a kind witch, unaware that a hostile enemy is watching her: the evil Snow Queen and her gargoyle apprentice, Louie. The Snow Queen has abducted Kai and keeps him prisoner in her ice palace way up in the freezing north of Norway. Together, Gerda and Kai escape, arriving back home just in time for the happiest holiday ever.
NORTH is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairy tale, “The Snow Queen” as well as by stories written by Selma Lagerlöf and Zacharius Topelius, and it is set in Copenhagen in the Victorian era of the late 1800’s.
