He graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest in 2000, in the first class lead by two prominent filmmakers: cinematographer János Kende and director Sándor Simó. The Dump, his diploma film directed by Georg Pintér, was shot in San Francisco. Between 2000 and 2020 he lived in the United States and worked primarily in the independent film scene in New York. In 2013 he finished his master studies in cinematography at the American Film Institute. Throughout his career, he has worked with filmmakers such as Michel Gondry, Tim Blake Nelson, Brian Mertes and Alex Harvey.
He has photographed a number of feature films and short films, many of which have been invited to and awarded at international film festivals. Walden: Life in the Woods, shot in 2016, was highly successful at festivals. For Come Find Me, directed by Nela Wagman in 2021, he received the award for best cinematography in New York. Currently he teaches cinematography and filmmaking at the Budapest Metropolitan University. He was one of the founders of the Hungarian Cinematographers Association (HCA).
